Terra Sculpture is honored to have been selected by the Arts Commission of the city of Richland, Washington to create three large-scale versions of our Sisters sculpture for a public space/pedestrian walk along the Columbia River. This marks a significant milestone for us: our first public art installation. We couldn’t have chosen a more lovely city or site (in truth, earlier this year they chose us which was a welcome surprise.)
The commissioned work is a trio of Sisters, different sizes, grouped together to form a dynamic figure in the open space. The Arts Commission of Richland photoshopped this concept into the site which is seen in the photo above. Our tools and hands are ready….and so the work begins.
We often design a one-of-a-kind aspect to our limited edition pieces. For a very appreciative (and hip) Portland couple we created an enameled apple green metal cube to elevate their version of Sisters. Whether in a public or private space, Sisters takes on a different character, altering the viewer’s experience. Thank you to our wonderful clients who are open to new ideas and share our vision to innovate.
